Beck's Odelay on black vinyl LP (Geffen, 2016, 140-gram reissue) is the Grammy-winning 1996 landmark that fused folk, funk, hip-hop and rock into one of the decade's defining records. Produced with the Dust Brothers, it spins out Where It's At, Devil's Haircut and The New Pollution — three MTV staples built from hundreds of samples — alongside the country waltz of Jack-Ass. The album took Best Alternative Music Performance at the 1997 Grammys and landed on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums list. This 2016 US pressing, lacquer-cut by Bernie Grundman at Pallas, brings the collage back to wax as a single LP with the original 12-inch picture insert.
