Nieves de Enero is one of the most revered albums by Chalino Sánchez — the “King of Corridos” and godfather of the genre — originally released in 1992 on Discos Musart, accompanied by Los Amables del Norte (led by Nacho Hernandez). Before Peso Pluma, Natanael Cano, or Fuerza Regida, Sánchez was the original king of corridos, popularizing the narcocorrido style. The classic recording features norteño love ballads like the title track Nieves de Enero and Florita del Alma, alongside some of Chalino’s best corridos including El Crimen de Culiacán and Hermanos Mata. The album reached the Top 20 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart. Sánchez’s legacy has seen a major resurgence, with a biopic in development. 10 tracks.
