Cliff Jordan's Cliff Jordan on 180-gram mono vinyl LP (Blue Note, 2024 Tone Poet reissue, all-analog edition). Not Guilty and Curtis Fuller's Blue Shoes show the Chicago tenor at full cry, backed by a septet featuring Lee Morgan on trumpet and John Jenkins on alto. Jordan cut a trio of superb Blue Note sessions in 1957, taped by Rudy Van Gelder; this self-titled debut remains a high point of the hard-bop era. Produced by Joe Harley and mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog tapes, this mono pressing delivers the session.
