Young Americans is the ninth studio album by David Bowie, originally released March 7, 1975 — marking his shift into what he called "Plastic Soul," partly influenced by the Philly Sound and recorded at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia. Gave Bowie his first US #1 single, "Fame," co-written with John Lennon and guitarist Carlos Alomar. Band included Mike Garson (keys), the late Luther Vandross (backing vocals), and David Sanborn (sax). 8 tracks.
