Symbolic is the sixth studio album by American death metal band Death, led by founding member and sole consistent member Chuck Schuldiner. Released March 21, 1995 via Roadrunner Records. Produced by Jim Morris at Morrisound Recording, Tampa, Florida. Widely regarded as one of the greatest death metal albums ever made, Symbolic marked a major shift toward melodic and progressive death metal, incorporating cleaner guitar tones and more introspective, philosophical lyrics. Lineup: Chuck Schuldiner (guitar, vocals), Gene Hoglan (drums), Bobby Koelble (guitar), Kelly Shaefer (bass) — with Andy LaRocque guesting on one track. 9 tracks, 50:36.
