About This Album

Dexter Gordon's Our Man in Paris, recorded May 23, 1963 at CBS Studios in Paris — the great saxophonist's first dispatch from Europe following his relocation, symbolically considered the last true bebop album. Gordon assembled a quartet with bebop legends and fellow expats Bud Powell on piano and Kenny Clarke on drums, with French bassist Pierre Michelot, for a set of well-known standards including Scrapple from the Apple and A Night in Tunisia.
