About This Album

In Somnolent Ruin marks Draconian’s return with nine tracks of gothic doom, bringing Lisa Johansson back alongside Anders Jacobsson’s contrasting vocal presence. The album explores alienation, inner conflict and the search for an anchor through imagery linked to Plato’s ideas of the soul. I Welcome Thy Arrow opens the journey, Anima features Daniel Änghede, and Cold Heavens explores the fragile balance between life and death. The instrumental atmosphere and spoken narration of Misanthrope River lead toward Lethe, the closing reflection on memory and forgetting.
