Extraordinary Machine is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Fiona Apple, released October 4, 2005 via Clean Slate / Epic Records. The album came after a six-year hiatus and a famously troubled development period, during which an earlier Jon Brion-produced version leaked online. The final version, produced primarily by Mike Elizondo (with Brion's tracks retained on the album), was certified Gold (1 million copies) by the RIAA. Ranked #1 album of 2005 by Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, and Slant Magazine. Grammy nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. 12 tracks.
