About This Album

J. Cole's fifth studio album on vinyl LP in a gatefold sleeve. KOD (2018) is a triple-meaning title — Kids on Drugs, King Overdosed, and Kill Our Demons — signalling an album of unusual conceptual depth and artistic ambition. It explores drug abuse, addiction, depression, greed, African-American culture, and economic inequality, incorporating elements of jazz, rap, and trap — inspired by SoundCloud rap's production aesthetics.

Cole handled the majority of the production himself, alongside T-Minus, Mark Pelli, and Ron Gilmore. Features ATM, Motiv8, Kevin's Heart, FRIENDS (feat. kiLL edward), The Cut Off (feat. kiLL edward), Once an Addict, and 1985 (Intro to 'The Fall Off'). Released via Dreamville / Roc Nation / Interscope Records, vinyl edition 2018.
