About This Album

Janis Joplin's Pearl on 180g audiophile vinyl LP (Columbia, 2012, Record Store Day exclusive) captures the rock legend's final studio sessions in premium form. Highlights include Me and Bobby McGee, Cry Baby, Move Over and the a cappella Mercedes Benz, the last song she ever recorded. Released three months after her passing, Pearl spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Cut with the Full Tilt Boogie Band and produced by Paul Rothchild at Sunset Sound, this 2012 Record Store Day edition pairs Joplin's final studio sessions with the original ten-track lineup.
