About This Album

Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds — the alter ego of country maverick Sturgill Simpson — deliver Mutiny After Midnight on an indie-exclusive translucent red vinyl LP, released March 13, 2026 via Atlantic Records and Simpson’s High Top Mountain label. His ninth studio album and second as Johnny Blue Skies (after 2024’s Passage du Desir) was recorded at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville and produced by Simpson himself, with a wild mix of stylistic turns and disco-fuelled hedonism on tracks like Excited Delirium and Everyone Is Welcome. Released only on vinyl, CD and cassette with no streaming availability, it debuted in the Billboard 200 top five on roughly 59,000 physical copies.
