About This Album

One of hip-hop's most unusual and compelling releases — Kendrick Lamar's untitled unmastered. (2016) is a collection of eight previously unreleased studio recordings from the To Pimp a Butterfly sessions, released with deliberate minimalism: no formal titles, no polished masters, no traditional rollout.

Pressed on standard black vinyl via Top Dawg / Aftermath / Interscope, the album captures Kendrick in a raw, exploratory mode — the jazz textures, spoken word passages, and fragmented arrangements are unguarded in a way that even TPAB wasn't. For serious fans, this is an companion piece. The record with zero prior promotion, a testament to Kendrick's standing in modern music.
