About This Album

Metallica's S&M, originally released 1999 — a groundbreaking live collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra under conductor Michael Kamen, recorded April 21-22, 1999 at the Berkeley Community Theatre. Bassist Cliff Burton's love of classical music inspired the project, reframing Metallica's thrash and metal catalog with full orchestral arrangements, including the new composition No Leaf Clover.
