Next to Normal is a rock musical with music by Tom Kitt and book & lyrics by Brian Yorkey, exploring how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards (including Best Original Score) and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This original Broadway cast recording features Alice Ripley, Aaron Tveit, Jennifer Damiano, J. Robert Spencer, Brian d’Arcy James, and Adam Chanler-Berat. Originally recorded and released in 2009.

About This Pressing

For the 15th Anniversary, composer and original album producer Tom Kitt returned to the original multi-track recordings and created a 2024 Remix & Remaster — enhancing several elements to achieve the sound he always envisioned. Pressed on 2LP Purple Vinyl. Ghostlight Records, June 13, 2025.
