About This Album

Wish You Were Here is the ninth studio album by Pink Floyd, released in 1975 via Harvest Records (UK). Recorded at Abbey Road Studios. Inspired partly by the band’s feelings of alienation within the music industry, and partly as a tribute to founding member Syd Barrett, whose mental breakdown had forced him out of the group in 1968. Shine On You Crazy Diamond is a direct tribute to Barrett. Cited by both David Gilmour and Richard Wright as their favourite Pink Floyd album. 5 tracks. Produced by Pink Floyd and Brian Humphries.
