About This Album

Claudio Abbado and the London Symphony Orchestra's 1981 recording of Stravinsky's Petrouchka on 180-gram vinyl LP at 45 RPM, as part of Deutsche Grammophon's Original Source Series. This DG production was recorded in parallel on both digital 2-track and analog 8-track — and for this edition, the analog 8-track master has been used, making this release the all-analog (AAA) version of this performance.

Mixed by Rainer Maillard and cut by Sidney C. Meyer directly from the original 1-inch 8-track tapes at Emil Berliner Studios. Limited and numbered edition housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with original cover art, additional photos, and facsimiles of the original recording logs and tape boxes.
