About This Album

The Doors's Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine on amber vinyl 2LP (Rhino, 2014, Record Store Day reissue of the 1972 compilation). The 22 songs span recordings from 1967 to 1971 by Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore, remastered by the band's longtime engineer Bruce Botnick. The band's second compilation, and the first issued after Morrison's death, it pairs familiar cuts with deep album tracks plus two single b-sides, Who Scared You and (You Need Meat) Don't Go No Further. The title comes from a lyric in The End, and this pressing is limited to 5,500 numbered copies on translucent amber swirled vinyl.
