About This Album

The Verve's third and most commercially successful album Urban Hymns, originally released September 29, 1997 — recorded after frontman Richard Ashcroft and guitarist Nick McCabe patched up their differences, blending psych and space rock into the sound of Britpop's finest hour. Fueled by the worldwide smash Bitter Sweet Symphony, alongside The Drugs Don't Work, Sonnet, and Lucky Man.
