About This Album

Whitney Houston's Whitney on black vinyl LP (Sony Music, 2023 reissue) is the 1987 Diamond-certified landmark that made her a first-name-only global icon. It holds four No. 1 Hot 100 hits — I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me), Didn't We Almost Have It All, So Emotional and Where Do Broken Hearts Go — which carried her record-breaking run of seven consecutive chart-toppers. The first album by a female artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, it spent 11 weeks at the top and sold over 10 million copies in the US. This 2023 reissue returns the Richard Avedon-shot classic to wax as a single LP.
